Sometimes It’s Not an Energy Thing. It’s an Envy Thing.
Not Sure Where You Fall With Certain People? No Worries.
You know, sometimes the goalpost keeps moving depending on who we are referring to.
Have you ever noticed that you can talk about three people and know exactly how you feel about each one of them—and assess them without hesitation?
But then it comes to that one person.
They’re a little bit popular. Everything they do is a little bit fabulous. And their standards are a little bit more consistent than yours.
And let’s face it.
It’s a little bit annoying.
And when you talk about it, no one seems to bat an eye.
They don’t correct you. They stay quiet, and somehow it feels like this is okay.
But why does it not feel that way on the inside?
Your patience for them is tick, tick, boom!
The thought of them coming up burns you on the inside while you smile delicately when someone says their name.
You hope your partner or best friend never meets them in person. Because if they saw what you see, game over.
And your triggers ask, Why doesn’t anyone else see what you see about them?
Everything about them is nothing to make a big deal about. They’re a five at best, but everyone treats them like they walk on water.
Why can’t anyone else recognize this?
Better question:
Why can’t you see what this is?
The Signs That Were There Before Them
They all point to a wound that was there long before they ever came into the picture.
Those little dirty secrets behind the veiled smiles. The habits. The you-versus-them beliefs.
Somewhere along the way, something got into your mind that you’ve never quite been able to shake.
In my latest release from the Vitamins for the Soul collection, Honey, It Is You, [this is where we need the correct publishing descriptor for this edition].
Honey, It Is You is not about judging or villainizing you. It is about unpacking what may be holding you back, where it came from and why, and what you can do to have a healthier view of yourself and others.
Because after all, sometimes it is easier to see what is amazing in others and overlook what is incredible about you.
But honey, it is never too late.
